Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about orthodontics and the practice. General dentistry is coming soon.
General Orthodontics
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children have their first orthodontic evaluation by age 7. Early evaluation allows us to monitor growth and intervene if necessary, though treatment is possible and highly effective at any age.
Treatment time varies depending on the complexity of the case. On average, active treatment takes between 12 to 24 months. We use advanced technologies to ensure treatment is as fast and efficient as possible.
You may experience some mild discomfort or soreness for a few days after braces are placed or adjusted. Over-the-counter pain relievers can easily manage this. The placement of the braces itself is completely painless.
Invisalign & Clear Aligners
Invisalign is a great option for many teens and adults looking to straighten their teeth discreetly. During your free consultation, Dr. Smith will assess your specific needs and determine if clear aligners are right for you.
THE PATIENT AND ANY OTHER PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYMENT HAS A RIGHT TO REFUSE TO PAY, CANCEL PAYMENT, OR BE REIMBURSED FOR PAYMENT FOR ANY OTHER SERVICE, EXAMINATION, OR TREATMENT THAT IS PERFORMED AS A RESULT OF AND WITHIN 72 HOURS OF RESPONDING TO THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE FREE, DISCOUNTED FEE, OR REDUCED FEE SERVICE, EXAMINATION, OR TREATMENT.
For optimal results, you should wear your aligners for 20-22 hours a day, removing them only to eat, drink (anything other than water), brush, and floss.
